Camera Assisting

NOTE: It is recommended that participants wear a mask for all in-person workshops.

An important role in itself, camera assisting offers an opportunity to work with professional cinematographers. Learn the theory and practice of camera assisting in this one evening intensive workshop. Using LIFT’s RED Epic Mysterium-X camera package, participants will learn lens testing, camera setup, labeling, slating, focus pulling, as well as on set protocols for digital cameras. With this hands-on introductory workshop, participants will have time to build, operate and break down a camera setup, to practice some of the duties of a camera assistant and put aspects of cinematography theory into practice.

The Camera Theory workshop or equivalent experience is required as a prerequisite to this workshop. This workshop is recommended as a companion to the Cinematography Fundamentals, Lighting Fundamentals and Grip Fundamentals workshops.

Please note that a workshop does not substitute the need for LIFT members to perform a proficiency test in order to rent particular LIFT equipment and/or facilities from our Technical Department. This includes our RED Epic Mysterium-X Camera Package.
