Introduction to Sound Editing ProTools

NOTE: It is recommended that participants wear a mask for all in-person workshops.

ProTools Pro Tools is a powerful digital audio workstation widely used for music creation and production, sound for picture and, more generally, sound recording, editing, and mastering processes. This introductory workshop provides a practical insight into concepts, technical set ups and tools of digital sound editing. Participants will learn the interface and navigation, how to create a new session, record sound, manage files, import audio and MIDI files, edit and mix sound, add audio effects and export.

The workshop will touch on recording but will focus mainly on editing audio. If you have any audio recordings readily available to edit please bring them, otherwise sound bites will be available for you to use. T​his workshop is recommended as a companion to the Introduction to Location Sound Recording, Introduction to Post-Production Sound for Filmmakers and Producers workshops and Sound Design with Pro Tools workshops.
