Developing a Television Series

This workshop is intended as an informative, motivating and supportive experience for anyone developing an original television concept. In the Golden Age of television, creators have the opportunity to tell stories in more ways than ever – half hour, one hour, episodic, serialized, mini series, limited series – but which is right for your concept? We will use a combination of lecture, discussion and analysis of existing series to delve into essential elements of a Television Series. We will also look at the documents writers create while developing and selling a series – and participants will be asked to generate a five page pitch document. Please come with at least one (max 3) series concepts summarized in two to three sentences, which we can discuss in the first class. Participants will be asked to choose one idea which they will develop and discuss over four weeks.
