Cinematography Bootcamp for Documentary Filmmakers

This four-hour workshop is designed to transform your approach to visual storytelling, teaching you to "think like a director of photography" as you embark on your own documentary projects. Going beyond theoretical concepts and offering actionable strategies for overcoming common filmmaking challenges, you'll gain insights into pre-production planning, on-set problem-solving, and post-production considerations that impact your final shots. Practice on LIFT’s cameras, or bring your own: it's your chance to ask questions and learn how to creatively use your equipment. We will dive into smart buying advice on building your kit, tips on interacting with subjects, camerawork techniques for framing and continuity, working with natural lighting and more.

Cinematography Bootcamp for Documentary Filmmakers provides an invaluable opportunity for aspiring and emerging documentary filmmakers to refine their craft and gain the practical knowledge necessary to tackle their next documentary project.
