Crafting the Perfect Pitch: Packaging Your Project for Success

Pitching a film project requires a well-crafted pitch package that highlights the essence of the story, its potential, and the unique qualities that set it apart. Many creative roles (producers, directors, writers, composers and designers) have to pitch and often they’re not natural sales people.

This workshop gives you more than a pep talk; filmmakers will learn how to clearly write and develop their pitch packages to get maximum attention. Learn what is expected in an initial proposal submission; writing an effective logline, synopsis and biography; designing a striking treatment; as well as perfecting an elevator pitch. For the second class, each student will present and pitch a package for a film / story either in development or completed, and receive constructive in-class feedback from the group and the instructor.

A good pitch isn’t going to beat a great idea, but a good pitch often prevents your idea from dying and can green light a great idea. With these elements in place and practice you’ll have a comprehensive pitch package that effectively communicates your film project’s vision and potential.
