COVID-19 Production Protocols Panel

Are you looking to shoot your next film but unsure of the necessary on-set protocols for your cast and crew, equipment rentals, location permits, insurance details, medical requirements and available resources? Here is an excellent opportunity to join a panel of industry professionals as they discuss how film productions are working and keeping safe during and in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Coral Aiken is a creative producer based in Toronto. Her company Aiken Heart Films, specializes in developing new talent in film, television and digital cinema, and collaborates with a new generation of filmmakers to create relevant, thought-provoking films that resonate with audiences. Aiken is an alumna of York University’s Film MFA, Berlinale Talents, Trans Atlantic Partners and TIFF studio. She has screened work internationally with films in competition at Cannes Cinéfondation, Rotterdam, BAFICI and TIFF.

Kate Allen is a Film Permit Coordinator with the City of Toronto's Film Office. For over 5 years Kate has coordinated small to large-scale film permit requests for the commercial, television and film industry. Prior to working with the City, Kate worked as a Production Coordinator in Ottawa and Toronto. Kate has a Master of Arts in Film Studies from Carleton University. 

Stephen Bortolon is a Vice President with Gallagher Canada. He proudly joined Gallagher in 2016 after a successful history in his previous roles within the insurance industry. Stephen has over 10 years of experience supporting clients across multiple areas within the industry world. Currently Stephen specializes in Media and Entertainment insurance and continues to grow as a trusted advisor for all Entertainment related ventures. Certain areas of expertise include anything from the small production, up to large scale Television, Feature Films, Streaming Services, Unions, Guilds, University Programs and more. Stephen is an active volunteer in the entertainment community, supporting organizations such as the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and Women’s in Film & Television Toronto (WIFT Toronto). He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Louis University and is a fully licensed insurance broker across Canada.

Tereza Olivero is a Business Representative in the Film, Television and Digital Media department at ACTRA Toronto. Tereza advocates on behalf of ACTRA’s 15,000 members working under its collective agreements, and guides producers with budgets of all shapes and sizes to successfully working with professional performers. Tereza is the point person at ACTRA Toronto for ensuring appropriate COVID protocols are in place for film and television production, and to date has vetted over 500 COVID protocols on behalf of ACTRA members.
