Blackmagic Cinema Camera and URSA Mini Pro

During this intensive hands-on workshop, participants will explore the features of both of LIFT's Blackmagic Cameras: Blackmagic Cinema Camera (BMCC) and URSA Mini Pro. These powerful and budget friendly digital cameras are 2.5K and 4.6K resolution sensor respectively. Their workflows, as well as their flexible rigging options can be customized to suit a wide variety of stylistic approaches to cinematography. The BMCC offers 13 stops of dynamic range and can hold most Canon DSLR lenses. Sporting a powerful processing unit, it can deliver your choice of glorious 12-Bit RAW CinemaDNG in a 4:4:4 color space, or 10-bit ProRes/DNxHD in 4:2:2.

The URSA Mini Pro with the features and controls of a traditional broadcast camera, is a multifunctional system which now includes built in ND filters, a status display and a revolutionary new interchangeable lens mount that lets you change between EF (native) photographic lenses or PL or B4 lenses. Utilizing solid-state hard drives as media storage, cinematographers can now seamlessly integrate their footage with Blackmagic’s own DaVinci Resolve colour correcting and DaVinci Resolve editing software thus offering one of the most flexible file-based workflows.

The Camera Theory workshop or equivalent experience is required as a prerequisite. This workshop is recommended as a companion to the Camera Assisting, RED Epic Camera, Colour Theory, Digital Imaging (DIT) and Introduction to Digital Colour Grading with DaVinci Resolve workshops.
