Intermediate Digital Colour Grading with DaVinci Resolve
Participants must download and install DaVinvi Resolve 16 on their personal computers for this workshop.
This intermediate workshop builds on the material covered in the Introduction to Digital Colour Correction Workshop and continues the exploration of Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5K RAW, Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K RAW and RED 5K RAW workflows. Participants will explore modern digital colour grading tools and apply fundamental concepts and treatments through hands-on lessons. Participants will discover grading techniques that are not physically possible with laboratory processing.Participants are also encouraged to bring their own source material, which may be used in the workshop.
Colour Theory and Introduction to Digital Colour Grading with DaVinci Resolve workshops are required as a prerequisites. This workshop is recommended as a companion to the Blackmagic Cinema Camera and URSA Mini Pro, and RED Epic Camera workshops. Participants are encouraged to have media to work with.

You will receive an email from LIFT with an invitation link to join the workshop one hour before the class begins which will prompt you to open the application or web browser. After this, the instructor will admit you into the call.
Please ensure that you log in using a Zoom account with a profile name that appears as the same name registered for the class. If not, for security reasons, you may not be permitted to join. During the workshop, we advise that you keep your microphone on mute to minimize external noise and that you unmute when participating in class discussions. Please also arrive to the session on time so the instructor can admit you before the lesson begins.

Instructor: Ian Passy
Ian Passy is a colourist and online editor from Toronto, Ontario. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a major in cinema studies and minors in visual art and art history. He is currently a digital intermediate online editor for Deluxe Picture Services. He has previously colour graded and finished projects produced by Sinking Ship, Entertainment, Marble Media and Cineflix Media.
