RED Komodo and Canon C500 Production Cameras

This workshop will focus on capabilities of and the differences between the RED Komodo and the Canon C500 cameras as viable options for digital production. By discussing the advantages and workflow of each camera, participants with be able to make their own decisions on which camera would be best suited for their own projects. In the second half of this workshop, participants will get a intensive, hands-on experience prepping, building, shooting, and exposing with each camera, resulting in sample footage that participants can take home to work on independently.

Instructor: Michael Jari Davidson

Michael Jari Davidson is an award-winning Toronto-based cinematographer who chooses to work in the narrative and music video spaces. His cinematography work includes the digital series I WILL BURY YOU, the upcoming feature sci-fi film DEN MOTHER CRIMSON, and Lowell Dean’s post-apocalyptic feature SUPERGRID.

Michael’s work has garnered millions of views on YouTube, having lensed music videos for major American record label artists, including the legendary GRAMMY nominated grunge titans Alice In Chains (Capitol), Buck 65 (Warner), and Juno Award winners Tegan and Sara (Warner Bros Records) and Dear Rouge (Universal).

His work has appeared in Canadian Cinematographer, and Kodak’s InCamera magazine.
