Workshop Registration

Introduction to Production Management and Accounting

Note: This workshop was originally scheduled to be in-person but is now online.

This one-day workshop provides a practical overview of the production management and accounting skills for film productions. Participants will learn from an industry professional how to navigate their way to becoming a Production Manager and Accountant, explore through different topics how the two departments work together and develop the core skills and knowledge required to be successful. Topics include functions and roles, unions, breaking down a sample script, researching service providers, building a shooting schedule, determining a budget, prepping initial call sheets, cash flow, cost reporting, payroll and standard production paperwork. This workshop is highly recommended for those interested in working in the film industry or for filmmakers who wish to improve their expertise in these areas.

Note: This workshop is best suited to participants thinking about making their first feature and does not cover preparing budgets for Grants. See Grant Writing for Arts Council workshop if required.

The Introduction to Independent Filmmaking workshop is strongly recommended as a prerequisite. This workshop is recommended as a companion to the Producing Dramatic Film and Directing Dramatic Film workshops.
