UNDER MAINTENANCE: As of March 25, 2026 this facility is undergoing maintenance and is not available for rent until further notice. 

The Telecine Transfer Suite is a telecine system that Production and Production Student Members can use to transfer their developed motion picture films in Regular 8mm, Super8 and 16mm formats. This set-up cannot transfer Super16 due to the size of the 16mm projector gate. 

The camera used in this set-up is a Blackmagic URSA EF, which can record in 1080p or 4K.
Media is recorded directly to an SSD drive in the camera (2 x 250GB SSD’s in the suite). Renting members are recommended to bring their own hard drives for offloading footage using iMac and the SSD dock in the suite.

PLEASE NOTE: 
Members must know how to use an analogue film projector to use this set-up. You must also put all your films on cores or reels, with leader at the beginning to allow for loading the projector. If you need film editing supplies, you can find them at the LIFT Store through lift.ca/store

LIFT Technicians can give you a brief overview on how to use the room, but they cannot do the service for you. If you require film transfers as a service, please see this list of scanning companies. Please also see the PDF attached to learn more about the room before renting.
