learned basic filmmaking skills and created a short film with Media
Creatorz. Workshops were hosted by Aboriginal filmmakers Miles Turner
and Amanda Strong. The Media CreatorZ project involves a series of
weekly workshops for ten Native youth in Toronto on the topic of
contemporary storytelling.

contemporary storytelling. This project provided youth with filmmaking
skills so they can highlight First Nations issues and share their untold
stories. LIFT provided facilities and equipment for Media CreatorZ.
Media CreatorZ
Media
CreatorZ, a new-media based Aboriginal youth collective, delivers a
series of weekly workshops to Native youth in the GTA on the topic of
contemporary storytelling. By learning fundamentals in diverse mediums
such as stop-frame animation, digital video, digital photography and
graphic design, youth participants will gain the tools necessary to
share their vision and find their own vision.
