ANNOUNCES 45TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION – AUGUST 2026
Toronto, July 28, 2026—Join the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) for our 45th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, August 14, 2026 downstairs at the Owls Club, 847 Dovercourt Road.
Earlier this year on April 8, 2026, LIFT celebrated its 45th Anniversary. It’s exciting and humbling to reflect on the impact we have made over the years on the lives of independent filmmakers, whether it’s through our workshop program, our mentorships, our affordable rental rates for members, our community outreach programs, or our commissioning and production support projects.
Connect and celebrate with LIFT members old and new! Join us for an evening of music, karaoke, pool, darts, and cheap drinks. Special anniversary publication and merchandise will also be available. All proceeds from merchandise and ticket sales go towards LIFT and its commitment to facilitating excellence in the moving image for 45 years.

Please bring cash for the bar as Owls Club is not always able to accept card payments.
Accessibility note: We regret that the Owls Club is 10 steps down from street level and therefore not an accessible venue. Washrooms are also located 10 steps down from street level and do not have wheelchair clearance. Please email us if you require more information.
