This workshop aims to explore different tools and possibilities around the multiple photographic slide projector. It regards the projector as a tool and the slide as a non-static image. During the workshop the participants will learn different modifications both internal and external that can be easily done with different technological and DYS devices. At the same time, participants will also learn different image processes both from a plastic and physical perspective.

The one-day workshop is mainly practical and the participants will learn how to create, intervene and develop black and white 35mm prints and also explore creative ways of live projection with multiple carousel slide projectors. Topics will include creation of different images/slides with different techniques: print, multiple exposures, bi-pack and collage. The workshop ends with a collective improvisation exercise.

Crater-Lab is a laboratory of creation / production / experimentation and independent cinematographic projection, self-managed by artists and filmmakers. Its objective is to promote the production of an artisanal cinema in film support, focused on generating the material bases to create and experiment in all its processes (filming, revealing, copying, animation, plastic intervention, projection, etc.). The philosophy of Crater-Lab focuses on being able to produce cinema freely, be independent, self-sustaining, make and be a film community, support and make visible works of new and consolidated filmmakers, be a platform for projection, exchange of materials and knowledge, stimulate the formation of new generations that can be linked in a different way with cinema, create collaborative links with other related groups, and fundamentally generate all the means for creation in film support, as an act. https://crater-lab.org
