Youth Diplomat’s film program was exclusively aimed at teaching young Ethiopian/Eritrean girls about how film can be used as a tool to enrich the public about topics of great relevance. The hope of this program was to raise the presence of the Habesha diaspora community in the GTA film world. We touched on topics of womanhood, such as pressures related to appearance, hair, managing our Canadian identities with our Habesha ones etc. They filmed a couple of humerous short films dealing with reconciling their parents desires for them with their contemporary ideas about things like dating and apparel. We will be shooting a short video that deals with, hair, and pressure to assimilate.

LIFT provided editing facilities for this program.
