Female Eye Film Festival: 4th Young Filmmaker Development Workshop
The 4th Young Filmmaker Development Workshop brought together eight emerging indigenous female filmmakers to create Super 8mm films. LIFT provided equipment, technical support, and workshop space. Leslie Supnet facilitated Super 8mm and digital editing workshops. Projects were overseen by mentors Leslie Ann Coles, Jules Koostchin, Elizabeth Lazbenik and Leslie McCue. Participants included: Cedar Smoke (Anishinaabe Kwe), Stephanie Enosse-Thompson (Ojibwe, Wikwemikong First Nation)

Leslie Supnet is a Toronto based artist, originally from Winnipeg MB. Her moving image and drawing work draws from lived experience – foregrounding the every day and its’ dark undercurrents with sincerity and moments of sad humour. Her works have screened at various festivals, cinemas and microcinemas near and far.
The Female Eye Film Festival, established in 2001, is Ontario’s only annual international independent film Festival showcasing films directed by women. The Festival presents high caliber films in drama, comedy, sci-fi, action, documentary, experimental and animation. The Female Eye is a juried competitive film festival and presents films by debut, emerging and internationally recognized directors.
