Rafal Sokolowski is a film and theater director, a graduate of the National Theater School of Canada (Acting), and an apprentice of the National Theater Academy of Krakow (Directing). He completed his MFA in Film Production at York. His work has been exhibited worldwide and is supported by the National Film Board of Canada, the Arts Councils, and Bravo! FACT. He is the Artistic Director of Blind Dog Films – Toronto based production company, as well as the founder of the Video Collective.
Ekran Polish Film Association is a grassroots non-profit organization founded in Toronto by a group of individuals who are passionate about showcasing new media arts and films with both a Polish and multicultural focus. Last year marked the third year of the Ekran Toronto Polish Film Festival, a true success in terms of audience growth. Ekran is supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto, the Polish Filmmakers Association and the Polish Film Institute. The fifth edition of Ekran Toronto Polish Film Festival will take place in November 13-17th, 2013, at the Bell Lightbox and The Revue Cinema as its headquarter. The films showcased by Ekran represent significant and recent contributions of Polish filmmakers to film culture, with the festival being a noteworthy event for both Polish-Canadian and GTA communities.
