Enrollment: Limit 14
This workshop provides an overview on all the important elements and areas you have to know in order to build your career as a visual artist. The course focuses on the artist who works with moving images – art films and videos, video-installations – and the specificities of this media. Some of the topics that will be approached: self-management, self-promotion (social media, newsletters), selling and renting your works, limited edition, gallery representation, distribution organizations, showing your work in museums/galleries and festivals, art residencies, and tips to develop and showcase your cv, portfolio, artist statement and press clips. Our Summer Artist-in-residence Kika Nicolela will give examples based on her own artworks and practices. In addition, she will share samples for certificate of authenticity, invoice, and artwork inventory, as well as useful internet links and tools.
