GONE FISHING By Andrew Hamilton

Scott, an accomplished young professional, returns alone to his family cottage after years away to try and uncover the source of his dissatisfaction.

Andrew Hamilton is an aspiring filmmaker. He has completed several short film projects most notable of which is “This Town’s Called Crash”‚ starring Matt Austin and shot by Samy Inayeh. This film, a humorous look at the atomization of our society, has screened at several festivals in Canada, and a few in New York. Andrew‚s objective as a filmmaker are to explore the themes and issues that affect him and his contemporaries in an effort to articulate their struggles and provide clarity on their lives.

YIELD TO SELF By Ian Kennedy

Yield to Self is the gripping story of a middle-aged man who learns how to drive. We follow Jerry as he wrestles with his personal demons, comes to terms with his dysfunctional family, and sets off in pursuit of that Holy Grail of Adulthood — the G2 license.

Ian Kennedy is a writer and filmmaker from Toronto. His first film, now in post post production, is entitled Moving. He has also published poetry and fiction in magazines. Collaboration is his new-found love, both as a script writer and director.

LIFT OUT LOUD is our monthly script reading series, held on the first Thursday of every month. Come and hear some great scripts! LIFT members workshop their scripts by having them read by professional actors and then get feedback from the audience of their peers. This is a great opportunity to get some input before you head into production. We accept short and feature scripts. Don’t be shy! Anyone (including non-LIFT members) can come and listen.

If you are interested in submitting your script for future reading, or have any inquiries please call Matthew Toffolo 416.568.9046 or e-mail: liftoutloud@lift.on.ca. (You MUST be a LIFT member to submit a script!) If you’re an actor interested in taking part in the readings, please send a CV to liftoutloud@lift.on.ca

If you have more questions about LIFT and the script reading series, LIFT OUT LOUD, please contact Renata Mohamed, Membership Coordinator, at 416.588.6444 or membership@lift.on.ca
