Call for Submissions: Workshop Wrap-Up 2024
THE LIAISON OF INDEPENDENT FILMMAKERS OF TORONTO (LIFT)
ANNOUNCES CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:
WORKSHOP WRAP-UP 2024
July 19, 2024—Submissions for the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto’s (LIFT) Workshop Wrap-Up 2024 are now open! We are accepting films for an upcoming evening of new films, experiments, works in progress, and excerpts inspired by or created in one of LIFT’s workshops. Only films that fit the eligibility outlined below will be considered for the screening.
Did you attend a workshop at LIFT in 2023 or 2024? Send us your work inspired by or made in one of those recent workshops!
Eligibility:
– Limit of one (1) submission per filmmaker.
– Must be living and/or have an art practice in or near the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area areas (GTHA).
– Single submission must be 7 minutes or less (including credits).
– Content must be in line with LIFT’s Statement of Inclusion and Code of Conduct.
– All submissions must have been made either of the past three 2023 Seasons, as well as the Winter 2024 or Summer 2024 seasons or with a direct link to a workshop. (eg. a technique the filmmaker learned in a workshop was employed in the film. If you are unsure whether your film qualifies, please email ppellegrino@lift.ca)
Please Note: This screening would not count towards professional screening eligibility that the various Canadian arts councils require to be eligible for their media arts grants.
LIFT welcomes applicants from all creatives, and strongly encourages applications who identify as candidates from equity priority groups; using the current Toronto Arts Council definition as outlined here.
Presentation Details:
– We will be equipped to project Regular 8mm, Super 8mm and 16mm film prints, and digital files with the following codecs: H.264 and Apple ProRes.
Deadline: 5:00 pm ET on Tuesday, August 6, 2024
Submission Details:
– There is no fee to submit your film.
– After completing the form please drop off your film in-person to the LIFT facility by 5:00pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 if you are delivering your film on a physical medium (analog or a digital file via USB or hard drive). If you have a digital file, please attach it to your film submission form.
– Films can be either a film print, a Mac-Formatted USB, or a digital downloadable file (please ensure if you are using Google Drive that “Anyone with the link can edit” setting is turned on).
