In anticipation of Kickstarter’s officially launching in Canada later this summer, LIFT will be hosting Kickstarter’s Film Program Director, Elisabeth Holm, for a Kickstarter Info Session and Social. Elisabeth will be giving an overview of Kickstarter’s model as a funding platform for creative projects and a community-building tool for artists, including tips on what makes a successful campaign and how to use Kickstarter as a tool to grow and engage your audience. Come join us for insights into this new funding tool for Canadian filmmakers.

Elisabeth Holm is Kickstarter’s Film Program Director, overseeing Kickstarter’s filmmaker education, outreach, events, and editorial. In addition to her work at Kickstarter she is currently in post-production on Gillian Robespierre’s feature comedy Obvious Child starring Jenny Slate and Olivia Wyatt’s Sea Gypsies, an experimental ethnography of Moken culture, Executive Produced by Will Oldham. Most recently she produced Keith Miller’s 2012 Slamdance and FIPRESCI Jury Prize-winning Welcome to Pine Hill (Oscilloscope) and was the Associate Producer of Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky’s Oscar-nominated Paradise Lost 3 (HBO). She lives and works in New York City.
