It’s Your Move

It’s Your Move is a nationwide, assessment-focused personal
development program that enables youth with Tourette Syndrome to identify their
key challenges and target vital resources to address issues like
self-awareness, life skills, self-advocacy and employability. It’s Your Move
premiered at the
2010 TS Conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was launched in workshops across
the country. The TSFC is now building an on-line assessment tool and youth community
network. Most of the material on the It’s Your Move
website is text-based.
To encourage youth participants, some of the content will be provided in audio
format to reduce the amount of reading that required to complete the program.

Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada (TSFC)

The Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada is the only federally
registered, charitable organization of volunteers assisting individuals
affected by Tourette Syndrome (TS) and its associated disorders such as
attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder
(OCD), major depression, sleep disorders, and sensory processing disorder /
sensory defensiveness. TS by itself is a neurological or
“neurochemical” disorder characterized by tics—involuntary, rapid,
sudden movements or vocalizations that occur repeatedly in the same way. TS is
thought to affect 1% of the population; however, medical experts feel this
number is closer to 3% of the population.
