Upfront Theatre Foundation is a non-profit organization serving children, students, youth and women in the Jane and Finch community and surrounding areas. The mandate of Upfront Theatre is to organize and produce cultural, educational and social programs using arts and multi-media to sensitize the society to the social problems afflicting our children and youth.

The Script to Screen youth project is geared towards young people from the Jane Finch community and the surrounding areas that have an interest in learning different aspects of film/television production. This project is significant to the community because it will not only provide the participants with hands-on experience but it will allow them to create their own stories. Learners will be able to hone their skills as writers, directors and producers. They will be developing their own short films through the workshops provided in the program. This will give them the opportunity to further explore and develop these skills, under the guidance of educators within the industry.
