LIFT: FilmGate

From June through July 2008, LIFT offered a youth mentoring project, with participants referred from various youth service organizations around Toronto. This full-time six-week program provided a group of eight at-risk youth with resources, instruction in film production and a modest stipend. The participants each produced their own short film as well as participating in a group project. The work produced through this project screened at the $99 Film Festival and the Parkdale Youth Festival in July and August 2008.
