LIFT announces the 2021 BAICC Resident – Bruno Delgado Ramo

LIFT ANNOUNCES 2021 BAICC RESIDENT
BRUNO DELGADO RAMO

Toronto, September 29, 2021—The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) is pleased to welcome Spanish filmmaker Bruno Delgado Ramo as the current resident in the fourth edition of the BAICC Residencias Artísticas Internacionales de Creacion Cinematográfica, a collaboration between the (S8) Mostra Internacional de Cinema Periférico, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and LIFT. The residency supports the making of a new analogue film-based work by creators born or living in Spain. The work made in the residency will premiere at the next iteration of the S8 Film Festival, held during the first week of June 2022 in A Coruña, Spain.

Delgado Ramo will be in Toronto until October 11, 2021 to work on his film Frame Manoeuvres To Port. The piece consists of a 16mm film that places the port cities of Toronto and A Coruña in visual interplay. The port landscape of both cities works as meeting point, creating geometrical, rhythmic and chromatic echoes between the two cities.

Delgado Ramo’s residency also enables LIFT to beta test new safety protocols as we work to reopen to our members and community later this fall.

He will present a screening next week on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at PIX Film Gallery located at 1411 Dufferin Street, Unit C. Follow LIFT on social media as we’ll be announcing full details once they are confirmed.

Bruno Delgado Ramo (1991, Spain) is an experimental filmmaker, researcher and architect. Both his artistic and academic work focuses mainly on the moving image. He describes his often interdisciplinary work as research that is grounded in artistic practice.
