CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
LIFT and PIX FILM STUDIO IMMERSION PROGRAM 2017

Thematic: Hybrid Models of Filmmaking

November 25, 2016The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) and PIX FILM are seeking applications for a new Studio Immersion Program in 2017. We are looking for applications from International and Canadian artists to re-think, research and revisit various forms of audio/visual experiences, using film, pixels, analogues and digital objects to create visual expressions and forms. The artists selected for the program will produce and present new work.

The program will offer studio space, equipment and an exhibition area for presentation of work to one International and one Canadian Artist. The Studio Immersion will take place at PIX FILM with equipment access from LIFT. PIX FILM comes with both a studio space and a gallery/screening space that can potentially be used for an artist project.

The selected International Artist will have access to the studio for one month and a cash award of $3,000 (CAN) to put towards travel, accommodation, per diem and production costs. The studio will be provided by PIX FILM. Additional equipment and facilities will be provided by LIFT to a maximum of $1,000 (CAD). LIFT equipment rates can be found at http://www.lift.ca/equipment. The artist is responsible for the costs of all film stock, chemicals, lab fees and other expendables, as well as equipment and facilities rental beyond that initial amount.

The selected Canadian Artist will have access to the studio for three months and a cash award for $5,000 (CAD) to put towards travel, accommodation, per diem and production costs.
