LIFT Co-Presentation at Regent Park “Night Equals Day” November 2008

Regent Park Film and Video Festival – OUTDOOR PROJECTIONS
Outdoor night film and video installations projected on Regent Park buildings by Jason J. Brown and Adrian Blackwell will be on display throughout the festival.

The film is a continuous sequence of twelve 360 degree pans of Regent Park, shot once every hour from dawn until dusk on the fall equinox. It is shot at the virtual intersection of Oak and Sackville streets, between the public housing neighbourhood of Regent Park and the new construction sites of the redevelopment project.

Adrian Blackwell’s work focuses on the spaces and forces of uneven urban development. In 2008 he had a solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of Mississauga, and is also designing public furnishings for the revitalization of Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square. Adrian teaches architecture at the University of Toronto.

Night Equals Day was made through LIFT’s commissioning project Cinema and Disjunction.
