GUEST MODERATOR – AMNON BUCHBINDER:
Amnon Buchbinder’s short films encompassed narrative and experimental approaches and extended to performing arts adaptations and documentaries. After a director’s residency at the Canadian Film Centre, his critically acclaimed, genie-winning first feature THE FISHING TRIP was made in collaboration with his students at York University, where he works as a Professor of Film. Amnon’s second feature WHOLE NEW THING, which he co-wrote and directed, was a major hit on the international festival circuit. Published in 2005, his book THE WAY OF THE SCREENWRITER sets out a philosophical yet highly practical approach to screenwriting. Buchbinder has taught professional screenwriting workshops and has worked as a creative consultant and story editor for filmmakers all across Canada.
BOYFRIEND LATTE written by Mark Sanders and Shannon Beckner
A sassy young female executive has a deep desire for a boyfriend who will be honest and true and caring and passionate and funny and very hot. Her freshly-brewed latte delivers all these admiral qualities, but can a woman and a take-out latte have a real long lasting relationship?
CONSCIENCE written by Sam Mukherjee
On the streets of Toronto, feelings run high as Phil runs naked to win back his estranged lady- love. On the way, he comes across many interesting people, meets his conscience, and finds love all over again.
FLY PAPER written by David McLeod
