Script Supervision

The script supervisor is responsible for continuity, making sure the dialogue is correct, representing the editor on set, documenting all the shots…among other things! This eight hour course is ideal for directors who want to get the most out of their shots, editors who want to know what happens on set, and anyone who wants to work as a script supervisor. There will be samples of script supervisor notes, production reports, and practical exercises.

The Introduction to Independent Filmmaking workshop is recommended as a prerequisite. This workshop is recommended as a companion to the Directing Dramatic Film and Production Management workshops.​

You will receive an email from LIFT with an invitation link to join the workshop one hour before the class begins which will prompt you to open the application or web browser. After this, the instructor will admit you into the call.

Please ensure that you log in using a Zoom account with a profile name that appears as the same name registered for the class. If not, for security reasons, you may not be permitted to join. During the workshop, we advise that you keep your microphone on mute to minimize external noise and that you unmute when participating in class discussions. Please also arrive to the session on time so the instructor can admit you before the lesson begins.

Instructor: Timothy J. (TJ) Ediger

TJ Ediger is an artist and filmmaker from Alberta, Canada. He has participated in exhibitions, festivals, and residencies across North America. His practice developed out of a rural artist-run culture and a focus on interactive and public art. He has worked as a technician for festivals, galleries, and artist-run centres, and is currently the Technical Coordiantor for the Liasion of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto.
