This activity is family friendly.


Learn how to make a 16mm animated film loop using stickers and colourful markers to create lines, dots, stripes and other abstractions. Watch your drawings flicker, bounce and come to life on a 16mm projector with Toronto-based film artists Eva Kolcze and Leslie Supnet.

Eva Kolcze is a Toronto-based artist and filmmaker whose work explores themes of landscape, architecture and the body. Her work has screened locally and internationally at venues and festivals including Anthology Film Archives, The International Rotterdam Film Festival, The Images Festival, Nuit Blanche and Antimatter Film Festival. She holds an MFA in Film from York University and a BFA in Integrated Media from OCAD University.


Leslie Supnet is a Toronto-based moving image artist, originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Supnet utilizes animation, found images and sound, lo-fi and experimental practices to create documents of her personal vision. She is currently pursuing her MFA at York University, and teaches animation workshops with various artist-run centres.
