How do you map a video on any shape or surface, and create complex installations using multiple videos on 3-dimensional shapes? This practical workshop will go beyond the tradition of seeing video in a square shape on a flat screen. We will learn industry developed software tools which will enable us to explore the video projection from a highly creative perspective and tap into the art of the video projection mapping. With this knowledge you will be able to create stunning video art and moving image installations, work on site specific projects and live performances such as theatre, music gigs or as far as your imagination takes you! We will learn MadMapper and Resolume Avenue so make sure to bring your innovative ideas with you!

This workshop is designed for anyone with or without a prior knowledge of video making. You are encouraged to bring your own video material or reasonably sourced from the internet, such as Creative Commons. You will also be encouraged to build your own projection set out of the materials provided, be sure to bring your DIY spirit and a laptop (Mac preferred) if you have one. Please email workshops@lift.on.ca if you do not have a laptop and wish to take this workshop.
