Introduction to After Effects: Class B
After Effects is a digital animation tool whose range of possibilities is virtually limitless. After Effects allows users to animate, alter, and composite media in 2D and 3D space with various built-in tools and third party plug-ins. When used with Avid, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and other software, filmmakers use After Effects to alter and enhance video images. Learn the basic operations of this powerful software in this intensive introductory session.
Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and/or Final Cut Pro is strongly recommended. Each participant works at an individual iMac station. Students should be familiar with the Mac interface.

Hector Herrera
is a creative director and animator living and working in Toronto.
Having headed the design teams of several award winning studios (Cuppa
Coffee Animation, The Studio Upstairs and Trace Pictures) he now
freelances as a creative director, designer and animator. With over 10
years experience in broadcast design, Hector has created work for a
diverse range of clients that include Cartoon Network, SpikeTV, BBC, CTV
and David Cronenberg as well as advertising agencies such as JWT,
Ogilvy and FBC among others. His work has been showcased in several
design publications such as Stash, Design In Motion, Applied Arts and
Boards magazine and has garnered severalBDA gold, silver and bronze
awards. Hector is also an instructor in the illustration program at the
Ontario College of Art & Design where he teaches courses in Digital
Mixed Media and Animated Illustration.
