This workshop provides an overview on all the important elements and areas you have to know in order to build your career as a visual artist. The course focuses on the artist who works with moving images – art films and videos, video-installations – and the specificities of this media. Some of the topics that will be approached: self-management, self-promotion (social media, newsletters), selling and renting your works, limited edition, gallery representation, distribution organizations, showing your work in museums/galleries and festivals, art residencies, and tips to develop and showcase your cv, portfolio, artist statement and press clips. Our Summer Artist-in-residence Kika Nicolela will give examples based on her own artworks and practices.
