LIFT announces Ontario Touring Filmmaking Workshops – Summer 2015 Season

ANNOUNCES THE SUMMER 2015 SEASON OF
ONTARIO TOURING FILMMAKING WORKSHOPS

Toronto, June 11, 2015—The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) is pleased to announce the summer 2015 season of the Ontario touring filmmaking workshops program. Building on successful production training in Toronto, LIFT is working closely with partner organizations across Ontario to deliver workshops that will expand knowledge and encourage experimentation by the local talent base of each community. The workshops this season offer a range of skill development for independent filmmakers, ranging from story editing to camera theory, grant writing and cut-out animation techniques.

This season’s workshops will take place in Belleville with Downtown DocFest, London with the London Ontario Media Arts Association (LOMAA), Guelph with Ed Video Media Arts Centre, and Sudbury with Anywhere Creator Space and Cultural Industries Ontario North (CION). Full details about each individual workshop can be found on our website.

Workshops will be taught by Ontario-based independent filmmakers and film professionals. Instructors include: Noé Rodriguez, Maureen Dorey, Matthew Miller, Sue Johnson, Karl Reinsalu, and Leslie Supnet.

The touring program is generously supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).

The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) is Canada’s foremost artist-run production and education organization dedicated to celebrating excellence in the moving image. LIFT exists to provide support and encouragement for independent filmmakers and artists through affordable access to production, post-production and exhibition equipment; professional and creative development; workshops and courses; commissioning and exhibitions; artist-residencies; and a variety of other services.
